Pandemic lockdown update - March 2020
Update 17/03/2021 - We have been informed by Tennis Ireland that outdoor sports including tennis can restart from 01 April. We understand that there will be restrictions on numbers allowed on courts initially with singles only or doubles pairs from same family. Further relaxation planned from 12 April with doubles and coaching groups allowed. We are currently waiting for confirmation from Council that the courts will be reopened on 01 April.
Outdoor sports have been suspended since Christmas 2020, and our courts locked up with no tennis activities anticipated until early March but more likely to be early April. Government recognises that non-contact outdoor sports like Golf and Tennis are among the 'safest' sports' but decided to suspend them as part of the effort to encourage people to stay at home as much as possible.
When tennis recommences we will continue to apply the guidelines on sanitising and social-distancing as advised by our sport's Governing Body, Tennis Ireland
We require players at all times to hand sanitise before and after play & observe social distancing on court. Anyone who has symtoms, waiting for test result, or is isolating or quarantining is prohibited from entering the courts area.
