Coronavirus lockdown update - October 2020
During the Coronavirus lockdown earlier this year, our courts at Cloughey were closed and all Club activities suspended. The restrictions were relaxed from late May and the courts opened by Council for everyone to use subject to observing guidelines. Further stages of relaxation followed and from late July we were able to organise club activities including clubplay, coaching groups and internal competitions. An influx of new members has boosted attendance and a lot of tennis has been played.
In October, new restrictions have been imposed but tennis is recognised as one of the 'safest' activities, and a non-contact sport, so we are able to continue our casual clubplay and coaching groups subject to limiting the numbers on court at any time and without spectators.
We require players at all times to hand sanitise before and after play & observe social distancing on court. Anyone who has symtoms, waiting for test result, or is isolating or quarantining is prohibited from entering the courts area.
