Super new version - location set for Ards Peninsula - 5 day detailed forecast - try it!
Excellent real-time animation of rainfall over last 3 hours - use it to see the path and speed of rain.
Weather tip - Remember that Cloughey is in the sunniest and driest part of Northern Ireland and has its own micro-climate. Often the forecast rain does not appear - or is lighter than predicted. However, being on the coast,we do get more wind than inland areas.

About us Cloughey & District Tennis Club
ABOUT US
We are a small recently-established tennis club based in Cloughey, on the Ards Peninsula in County Down with a growing membership. We play all year round on our 'state of the art' acrylic-surface, floodlit courts.
Anyone thinking of taking up tennis is welcome to have a free trial without any obligation to join. Just come along to one of our club-play sessions (Tues & Thurs 7-9 or Sat 2-5) and have a game with us and see how we operate.
We are based at Bowls and Tennis complex at Cloughey Pavilion at Main Road Cloughey, beside the Warren.
We have regular coaching courses for adult beginners (free for new members) and our subscription rates are very reasonable, especially as we play all year round.
Our Junior section is particularly active and also plays all year round. See the Junior Tennis page for more information.
Please check out the other pages on this site for further information on our club.
Junior Tennis
Junior Tennis - free coaching
Supervised playing and coaching sessions for our junior members twice a week all year round. These sessions are supervised by our coaching director and volunteers from the Club and are free for Club junior members.
The juniors are split into 4 groups according to age and level of tennis skill. When they have achieved a certain standard of skill they can move up to the next group regardless of age. We use the Internationally recognised 'play-and-stay' games-based approach to coaching using special slow balls and mini-nets to enable incremental progression in ability.
Red Group - Age guide 5-7yrs + (all beginners). Activities - co-ordination games and exercises and introduction to mini-tennis with slow Red balls.
Orange Group - age guide 7-9yrs. Activities - competitive mini-tennis with Orange Balls and introduction to mid-size court tennis.
Green Group - age guide 8-11yrs plays full court tennis with Green Balls + learn proper shot technique and tactics.
Yellow Group - ages 11-16yrs Activities - full court tennis and drills (including ball-machine drills) with normal tennis balls.
Current times for junior sessions (From 31 August 2011) -
Red and Orange Groups: Wednesdays 6-7 pm and Saturdays 12-1 pm
Green and Yellow Groups: Wednesdays 7-8 pm and Saturdays 1-2 pm.
